St. Baldrick’s 2012

Each year, my family and I participate in the St. Baldrick’s Event.  Each year, I am blown away at the amount of love and support that my friends and family give to me and this great event.  Each year, I am humbled to have had the most fortunate life with healthy happy kids.

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know that Corey and I do St. Baldrick’s to honor my beautiful friend, Abbey whom we lost to cancer in 2000.  St. Baldrick’s is the best way, that I can think of, to honor and remember her wonderful life and the amazing lessons that she was able to teach me in our younger years.

Selfishly, I love this time of the year because I get to hang out with Abbey’s family. Her Mom, Nan and Aunt, Sue and I all work together to put on the Canton Event.  They make me feel connected to Abbey again and I adore working with them.

I invite you to help us in any way that you can.  This year’s event is at Quaker Steak and Lube in Canton on Sunday March 18th from 12-6.  If you come and eat during that time QSL will be donating 15% of sales to St. Baldricks.

My Pap is our “family representative head-shaver” this year. You can donate at his St. Baldrick’s webpage.  While you’re there take a look around the site, St. Baldrick’s does great things for kids with cancer.

For just the next day or so, we’ll be taking last minute Silent Auction (our Silent Auction is HUGE!) donations. If you have something awesome that you’d like to donate, send me an email.

I truly believe in this wonderful event. I love to see so many people come out to help one another.  I love the message of HOPE that it brings.  I love that it turns something so hideous, like cancer, into a positive show of love and support.   Hope to see you on the 18th!
