Friday, May 28th was a big deal. After 40 years of service in the steel industry, Corey’s dad finally got to call it quits. He went out in style, with a limo full of his whole family to pick him up from his last day of work. It was too cool.He was one proud Papa.
While we were at the plant, I got to take a quick tour of the place. The entire plant was built from the ground up by Gary… his vision, his creation, his determination. It was beyond impressive.
Amy found these adorable shirts for the kids…
We picked him up in a 14 person limo, and we had that baby packed with 6 kids (5 in carseats!), and 8 adults! The kids LOVED it!! Anna said that she felt like Cinderella, and at the end of the night when it was time to go home, she wanted to know where the limo was. Cate said that night that she dreamed about limo’s all night.
I love these 2 photos of Gary. He has such a genuine smile on his face and you can feel how happy and proud he is at this moment, driving away from the plant.
We stopped at a park on the way home for a few photos.
And then, after a quick rest at Nana and Papa’s house we had a little party for the man of the hour. Nana planned the whole day so that the entire family, kids especially, would be together and happy. The party was casual and small and delightful.
The cousins had so much fun playing together. These two are going to be trouble… 🙂
The day was a great start to summer and great start to Gary’s new adventure. The kids played outside until well after dark and their little legs couldn’t run any more.
Congratulations, Papa, we’re so proud of you!
