Our Big Girl

The time has come…the time to share our big girl with the world.  Preschool starts tomorrow.  For almost 4 years now we’ve had out little girl home safe with us, protecting her from everything and anything.  And we couldn’t be more thankful for that time.  But, as well all know, change is just a part of life, and this will be just one change in a big line of changes.

I think we’re ready to share her.  We’re excited for the world (okay, the Preschool world, at least) to see what a funny, kind, unique, smart, nutty little girl she is.  We can’t wait for her to begin learning about friendship, and what a gift it is.  We ‘re excited to see her little mind expand as her world grows.

We’re so proud of our big girl and can’t wait to see what this new experience will bring!

A Girl’s Best Friend

Meet Becky, and her “kids”, Gabe and Scandals.

Now, if you know me, you’re thinking…”WHAT?!!  Jaime and DOGS?!!”  Okay, it’s true, I’m not exactly a “dog” person, but when an opportunity arises, you take it, right?!  This is life…

So, Becky had seen Pam’s photos and immediately got in touch with me to do a shoot of her and her dogs.  I was so excited  and thankful for the referral! Becky, the “kids” and I all met at Monument Park on Sunday, and had a great time!  The dogs were so good, and really not that different from taking pictures of human kids. Becky was so fun to work with and a natural in front of the camera.

This is Becky and Scandals.  Scandals is in poor health and actually going in for surgery today.  🙁  You can really tell that they have a special companionship.

DSC_0221-1 I was so thrilled to hear Becky’s reaction to her photos.  She said, “You captured the “kids” I see everyday.”

Wow.  Talk about a compliment!!

Thanks so much, Becky, for helping me to think “out of my box” and for a fun shoot!

Amy - As always, great job Jaime. I’m proud of you for putting yourself out there with the “kids”!

rebecca remerowski - I am every day amazed at you and your talent…xoxoxo

August 28, 2009 - 9:44 pm

Jennifer Morgan - I am supposed to be biased…as your mama. But I know how much these “kids” mean to Becky. And you have outdone yourself by seeing them as she does. Again….I am proud and humbled to be YOUR mama. Amazing job.

Momma Dar - Great Job Done Jaima! Love the pics! Dogs…..!!!!!! Amazing!

Beavis and Butt-head

Did I really just call my daughters Beavis and Butt-head?  Well, yes, but not really…let me explain.  The other day they were in the bathroom together, brushing their teeth, and we heard the “Uh..huh..huh..huhhh” laugh.  This is what we saw…

They were both leaning over the sink, with their little feet dangling above the ground,

drinking water out of the spout, and laughing..huh…hu..hu…huh…

DSC_0236I love how the blurriness adds to the movement.  Can’t you just see their little legs a kickin’?  🙂

Shari Schwab - Great photos. You must keep that camera strapped to your hip to get these pics at the right time!
Aunt Shari

August 26, 2009 - 2:14 pm

Jaime - Yup, I sure do, Aunt Shari! That was one of the first photog tips I learned, keep your camera out and handy, you never know when you’ll see a great shot! 🙂

August 26, 2009 - 4:25 pm

julaintexas - love those pics. But what I always love the most is the intense dose of all things girly I get when stopping by here. Those dresses….ponytails….long hair…..fun sparkles. {sigh}

the boys got your mail. THANKS!! They loved it. “Cate and Anna!!” they squealed, I mean manly shouted.

August 27, 2009 - 9:24 am

Corey - Oh Julie, the “intense dose of all things girly” comment really does sum things up! I am holding on to my Maleness the best I can.

August 27, 2009 - 11:04 am

Momma Dar - I was thinking the same thing when looking at those fun and adorable pictures. How girly they look. So Cute!
The legs dangling…. the best!

Ahhhhhhhh Summer…

Cherry tomatoes, tomato and bagel, tomato sauce, tomato sandwich, BLT’s, stewed tomatoes, stuffed tomatoes, green fried tomatoes…I’ve been feeling a bit like Bubba, but darn it, the tomatoes from our garden have been AWESOME!

August 27, 2009 - 9:37 pm

Larissa G. - did you really make all the things listed above? You are super woman.

Momma and Son

I can’t thank you all enough for your kind words and support!  What a fun adventure this is turning in to!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing beautiful Pam and her adorable little man, Jonathan at the Children’s Garden at Monument Park.  They were so fun and easy to work with, I think we all had a great time!  Below are my (and coincidentally, Pam’s) favorites.  I was soooooo excited when some of my favorites were too some of Pam’s.  I tend to like and look for the un-posed, natural picture.  (If you’re looking for “Look at the camera!  Look at the camera!  Smile! Smile! Smile!” I’m not your gal.) I love that Pam “got me” and was super excited about her photos.  Thanks Pam and Jonathan, you two were the best!

DSC_0041You are beautiful, Pam!

DSC_0083We found that boogers and other gross stuff made Jonathan smile.  🙂

August 20, 2009 - 8:10 pm

Larissa G. - I saw these pictures on facebook (oh the love of FB!). I absolutely LOVE the last one of Jonathon running in the trees. Really great shot.

August 20, 2009 - 9:58 pm

Momma Dar - I was just admiring these pics again. They are great. I got to thinking…. Pam took all the absolutely wonderful pictures around my house of my three “little ones” over 25 years ago!! It is no wonder she knew which ones to pick, and that the two of you hit it off so well!

August 21, 2009 - 10:30 am

Jake - I beg to differ…..boogers are not gross, however, they are in fact funny.

August 21, 2009 - 4:10 pm

Amy - I also saw them on facebook and great job. Love the outdoors!
