Welcome to the new and improved blog site!  Please look around and let us know what you think!

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments on the “old” blog.  Your support means the world to me!  Since I’ve been away for a while I have lots of posts all ready to go!  I’ve missed you wonderful blog readers!!  Please don’t be bashful with your comments on the new blog.  It’s always so funny when someone says, “I..er…uh..read your blog…I hope that’s okay?”  I know you’re out there and I can’t wait to hear from YOU!

Big Changes

07/31/2009 02:55

Anna would like to announce our biggest “Big Change”…

That’s right! Anna is going to be a BIG SISTER!! This is, by far, our most important and exciting change! Corey and I love being parent’s, we love our girls, and we are so totally excited about the new baby! The girls, by the way, are pretty excited too! I’m due in early March, so your thoughts and prayers for a healthy, happy baby are appreciated!

Okay, that’s a tough one to follow, but our/my next big change is…

It’s always been difficult for me to take risks, and “Jaime Lenhart Photography” feels like a big one. The good news is that I have TONS of support from my wonderful husband, family and friends that I think will help make this big leap seem a little less scary.

Photography has kind of awakened the creative side to me that has gotten lost in the shuffle somewhere along the line. I’m sooooooo not ready for this to be a big booming business; I want it to be manageable, and above all, fun for me. But, at the same time I think its time to get out there and see what happens!

I plan to focus on portrait photography. I love to take pictures of newborns, kids, families, seniors, and couples. I have a few sessions lined up already and will be so excited to show you all!

And with all these big changes, it seems like a good time for a new blog. This one has gotten waaaaay too big and ya know, it’s just time for a change. Over the next few weeks, thanks to my tech support (Uncle John and Corey) we’ll be working on a new blog. The new blog will still be our family’s personal blog, but in addition it will showcase my (eek!) professional work as well.

I think, and don’t quote me on this, I try not to pay too much attention to the technical side, that when the new blog is ready, you’ll go to lenharthome.net as usual and the new blog will magically appear. The plan is to have this “old” blog accessible still too.

So, like I said, BIG CHANGES! New baby, new business, new blog! (This on top of my new college semester starting and Cate starting preschool! Hmmmmmmm, am I the kind of person that needs to have a lot going on?) Anyway, your thoughts, comments, and well-wishes are welcome and appreciated. Loyal blog followers…we’ll see you on the new blog!

Happy Birthday, Baby

07/24/2009 09:14
Oh my, our baby is 2. How did this happen? Where has the time gone? As I think back on the last 2 years with Anna in our life, I feel overwhelmed with love, joy and pride for this little girl. She is pure sunshine and giggles, love and snuggles, sass and smiles, I simply can’t imagine a time without her. Happy Birthday, Baby Girl.

Here are her 2 year pictures, taken by yours truly. Enjoy.

Baby Eva

07/22/2009 02:09
There is nothing more exciting than when one of your best friends, who also happens to have an amazing husband and wonderful marriage, has a baby. On Saturday, we packed up the whole fam and went to visit Baby Eva in Columbus. I keep calling her “Baby Eva” because that’s what my girls call her. We say “Baby Eva” a lot in our house as the girls are a bit obsessed with her (and Emily) and constantly wanting to “be” Baby Eva. Needless to say they were super excited to meet her. Anyway, I was able to get a few pictures of this beautiful baby, some on her own, my mostly in the arms of her loving parents.

This one is my favorite. I just love how you can feel their love for this little girl. I love how even though Kevin
is only in a small portion of this picture, his presence as the protector of his 2 girls is consuming.
Uh! This little family is just so stinkin’ cute!!

I Heart Faces Photo Contest

07/20/2009 04:22
One of the (many) photography blogs that I visit is “I Heart Faces“. Each week, I look at all of the beautiful images that are posted, but never quite have the courage to post my own. But this week is different! This week the theme is “feet”, and if you know me, this theme seems the LEAST likely for me to enter. :0) But, last week I took my baby girl’s 2 year pictures and captured this adorable picture of her teeny little feet….anyway, I just had to enter! So….here is a sneak peek of our photo-shoot (MANY more pictures to come, check back!) and while I don’t know if it will be the “winner”, I’m feeling pretty proud about putting it out there anyway!

Click here to see all of the other beautiful entries.

The Beach

07/09/2009 09:22
Ahhhhhhh, the beach. We had such a great time building sandcastles, and knocking them down, taking walks, collecting shells and playing in the water. I only took my camera to the beach one day for two reasons. 1. I was terrified of something happening to my precious baby. 2. I was really just trying to enjoy the little moments instead of obsessing over the shot.

I’m telling you this because looking back over these beach pictures I found that while they “tell the story” of our beach time pretty well, they don’t totally remind me of the girls on the beach. In these pictures they are so clean! Typically, being clean lasted 0.2 seconds and then they were, head-to-toe, COVERED in sand. Anyway, clean or covered in sand, our little surfer girls sure are cute!

This one “tells the story” perfectly. Anna (above) splashing like a wild woman and Cate (below) looking at us like we’re crazy.

The girls played “car” a lot. They would line their chairs up, buckle their babies in, and take turns driving.

I call this one, “I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean”. Cheesy? Yes. But true? Oh, yes.

Love this one.

Surfer girls.

Swimming in the Pool

07/07/2009 10:34
Look out everyone guest blogger here. I hope I don’t ruffle any feathers from Jaime’s faithful but there’s just too many pictures for one person to post. Jaime “thinks” she picked all the pictures so you will notice no regard for how many pictures of my bald head there are.

First this the our place named ‘Lovin Life’ taken from the beach dune entrance. The pool is just to the right.

Doesn’t Jaime look like she’s also ‘Lovin Life’ on the front deck of ‘Lovin Life’? (This picture was not approved but I like it)

Cate was really into the pool this year. After the first 10 minutes she was actually off on her own using only her water wings. She did still occasionally drink some pool water however.

Anna was also off and running pretty quick. She was feeling pretty comfortable in the ring and as always had to wear her shades.

I think Anna wanted to lean back and have a cocktail in this picture but I didn’t want to share.

Time to get in the pool Mommy!

07/06/2009 02:07
What a fun week we had in the Outer Banks! This year, it was just the 4 of us and we had a sweet little time! The girls were SOOOOO good the entire week. They loved the pool (we now have children old enough to say, “Can we go to the pool now?”) and had fun playing at the beach. I think I’ll be blogging the trip in a few installments, as you can imagine I have a few picts from the week.

So, here is the first…fun with a tripod! We took the tripod to the beach one night and had way too good of a time taking self-timer pictures. The girls thought it was so fun to run into place while the timer counted down.

Love this one…

Just as I ran into the picture, Anna leapt out of Corey’s arms and into mine.

Silly girls.

Meet Emma

06/25/2009 10:35
After the photography workshop I attended in May, I came to realize that I was ready for some new challenges in my photography. Well, thanks to my friends, Kristin and Brett, I got one! They invited me over to take a few pictures of their beautiful baby girl, Emma.
I had SO much fun taking these pictures and was SO thankful for the opportunity! Although it was difficult to pick a few, here are my favorites, hope you enjoy!

Love that squishy newborn back!

Kristin was so calm with Emma, they were just beautiful together.

Emma is the little sister of Abigail, who is also a sweetie!

Riss and Tim…The Wedding

06/22/2009 09:28
Wow. What a beautiful wedding and a fun filled weekend! There is nothing better than seeing one of
your best friends so in love and so happy. Congratulations, Larissa and Tim!

The entire wedding party was so much fun! Here’s one of the girls at the rehearsal dinner.

The bride and her parents.

Believe it or not, I don’t have a single picture of Riss in her dress! The day was so busy that there just wasn’t time! But let me tell you that Rissa was positevly gorgrous. I mean, take-your-breath-away-beautiful.

…me playing wedding photographer. (And stalk the wedding photographer, I did.)

So after watching my friend walk down the isle, I learned that my one of my other best friends had her baby that very day! Congratulations Emily and Kevin!!! Emily was supposed to be in the wedding but graciously bowed out when she learned that she was pregnant. And what a good decision that was! Corey and I were thrilled to be among some of the first to hold the sweet baby girl when we stopped at the hospital in Columbus on the way home.

So, two best friends, one weekend, one wedding and one baby…I think I was still smiling when I went to bed.

Grabbed this picture from Kevin’s FB.

Welcome, Eva Alexandra
8lbs. 3oz.

Oh How We’ve Grown…

06/16/2009 10:14
My oldest and dearest friend, Julie, has been in town (from Texas) for the past week. We don’t get to see each other that often, but that never seems to matter. We always pick up right where we left off. Our friendship continues to grow as we discuss and exchange stories about motherhood, marriage, life…you know, girl stuff. I respect her as my friend and admire her as a mom, her boys are wonderful. I am so thankful for all of the time we’ve been able to spend her and the boys.

So, last night we had the whole gang over for a cook out and we got this picture of Julie, Myself, and all the kids. And while I’ve (obviously) known that its now Jaime and girls and Julie and boys, seeing this picture really made me see just how much we’ve grown. Look at all those kids!!

Now speaking of those wonderful boys… I just can’t say enough about them! They are kind, sweet, polite and funny!
The girls have had so much fun playing with them. And as you may have imagined, they loooove fussing over the baby boy.

Julie’s little boy is full of questions and energy and is so fun to be around.

Her big boy is full of knowledge and creativity and is so witty!
When he saw our minivan and said, “Is that your minivan? The front end looks just like a truck!”

The grandma’s were just oozing with joy. And now that I’m a mom, I can see why…happy daughters, wonderful families, great friends…I can only hope that my daughters will find a friendship as true and as lasting as I have found.

Silly. Silly. Silly.

06/12/2009 04:07

On my quest to find chemical-free “safe” sunscreen that won’t make my kids break out in a rash, we drove 25 minutes out of town to the only CVS that carried said sunscreen. Here is the conversation in the car…

Cate: Mommy, where are we going?

Mommy: To get new sunscreen.

Cate: Why do we need new sunscreen?

Mommy: This sunscreen is going to be better for you.

Cate: Will it smell like chocolate?

Mommy: Well, no. But that would be better.

Cate: Will it smell like elephant skin?

Mommy: I don’t think so.

Cate: Will it smell like mustard?

Mommy: …just laughs…

Cate: Well, what will it smell like?!

Oh, my funny girl. In case you were wondering…the new sunscreen had no smell to it and although it was
“extra-gentle-organic-foofy-foo-sunscreen”….it gave the girls a rash worse than they’ve ever had! Uh! >:-(

Here’s one more of her enjoying using my hair-twisty-thing.

The Bachelorette Party

06/08/2009 11:43
So, I’m finally getting around to blogging the Party. I think it’s taken me two weeks to do so because it’s taken me that long to recover! We had an awesome time in Charleston. We did the beach, the bars, had some great food and a fantastic girls weekend!
Now…just 12 more days until the wedding!

The Girls…Night One

The Big Night!

I just can’t say enough about my wonderful husband. He is always an amazing daddy, but he really handled my long weekend away beautifully. He even got the girls down to the lake, with their hair done and in matching outfits!!!
They had a great weekend together!

What I Learned At School

06/02/2009 04:29

On Saturday, my Father-In-Law and I attended a Photography Workshop and Atwood Lake.
We had a great time and here is what I learned.
1. I heart photography.
2. Gary is an awesome teacher.
3. I want more stuff (lenses, Photo Software, new challenges…)
4. I like taking pictures of faces.
5. Taking pictures is relaxing.
6. I’m not (quite) as clueless about photography as I thought I was.
7. I am having so much fun learning (and I still have a lot to learn)!!

Here are my favorites from the day.

Had a little fun editing this one…That’s “Capricious” at the Boater’s Beach.

The view of the lake from the Lodge.

I’m not sure why, but these two are some of my favorites of the day. Maybe it’s the texture of the table?
Or the color of the fruit? Or maybe its because it’s just a little silly?

Growing Girl

05/28/2009 03:28
See those cute little green shoes? Anna was just running around in them last week.
This week…they don’t fit! One week size 5 shoes, the very next, size 6!

And see those looooooong legs? Where did they come from?!
Where did my chubby-baby-roll-legs go?

Mouths To Feed

05/21/2009 06:53
Cate has taken to feeding her little sister her applesauce/yogurt/cottage cheese.
For now, Anna doesn’t seem to mind to much.

Look, Ma! No hands!

Being the animal lover that I am (HA!) I just had to get a picture of these little mouths. We have kept an eye on this nest and got to see the birds right after they hatched. Even though I’m no amimal lover, I just couldn’t help feeling proud for the new Mama Bird and her sweet babies. Well, if I’m being totally honest, I also thought they would make for a cool picture. 🙂

And now, just a few more pictures of my sweet babies playing in the sun.
(Thank you for returning, sunshine!)

05/17/2009 08:47
Remember those few days in April when it was 85 and sunny? Will that be back?
Will the warm weather ever come to stay? Sigh…
We even had the water table out!

Daddy’s Girl

05/14/2009 03:22
Anna is a Daddy’s Girl through and through. She’s also SUCH a sweetheart.
Lately, out of the blue, she’ll look at you and say “I duhh (love) you”. It’s so sweet.

Here’s a picture from (one of the many nights) when she insists on her Daddy to put her to bed.

Gardens and Grandmas

05/11/2009 08:36
We had a nice Mother’s Day picking out plants for our garden and planting them.

So, Anna is now wearing the clothes that Cate was wearing the summer she was born. And although she’s been wearing Cate’s clothes all along, this particular stage is, well, freaking me out a little. When did we get such a big girl?!
Anyway, check out this picture…
Does it look familiar?
Anyone else freaking out?!
I admit, the Anna picture this year, may have been, er, staged. :0)
(Oooooooooh and don’t you LOVE the quality difference in the pictures?! Yay for the Nikon D60!!!)

And then, dinner at Grandma’s house. Anna loves Gram.

At the end of the day I realized that I hadn’t taken a picture with my girls!
They were less than cooperative, but we got it! 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day

05/07/2009 02:13
I have always known that my mom loves me. But I never knew just how much until I had kids of my own. I remember rocking Cate when she was just a tiny baby, staring at her, as I often did, and thinking, whoa! This is how much my mom loves me! Wow. My mom has always been my friend, my mothering mentor, and my rock. I love her so very much and am thankful for our amazing relationship every single day. Seeing her now as the grandma to my babies, is the icing on the cake. She’s awesome.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom.

And while, you know, guys, aren’t as forward with their emotions….I happen to know that both Corey and I think the world of his Mama too. She’s fun and funny and always willing to lend a hand. She’s kind and caring and she loves us all so very much. She has a special way of tuning in to people, she knows just what everyone likes and dislikes. She takes the time to listen, really listen too. We can’t even begin to count how many times we’ve said, “We’re SO thankful our kids are so close to their grandparents.”
Happy Mother’s Day, Mama.

And so, this Sunday, I will enjoy a quiet day with my precious little family, and maybe spend a little time reflecting on the best gift my girls could ever give me, they’ve made me a mommy.

My beautiful “Happy Mother’s Day/Happy Last Day of the Semester” flowers. :0) Oh, and yes, school is done for the summer! I have LOVED teaching again and plan to return in the Fall, but for now, I’m going to enjoy, like every teacher should, my summer off.

Little Star

05/02/2009 09:10
A few weeks back I popped into Cate’s ballet class to grab a few shots of my beautiful ballerina. :0)
Here’s the “show” and a few of my favorites!

My Bro’s Family

04/27/2009 09:29
I just came across these pictures I took after St. Baldrick’s of my brother and his beautiful girls.
Just thought I’d share…

04/22/2009 10:02

And now…More Adventures of SWIM GIRL

04/20/2009 02:26
Meet SWIM GIRL! (Dah Da Dah Daaaaa!)
She’s brave, silly, and adventurous (especially if her Mama is close by)!DSC_0035

In her latest adventure, big girl swim lessons,
(swim lessons with no daddy, just the kids and the teacher) she was fearless!
Well, not so much a first…

At first, Swim Girl was a little scared. She wasn’t sure of that biiiiiiig pool and all of those kids!
She cried a bit, she wanted her Mommy.
So, her mommy gave her a few BIG hugs and told her, “Swim Girl, you CAN do it! I know you can do it!”

So, with the help of a friend in class who said, “It’s okay Swim Girl, this might be fun!”
And a teacher who carefully took her into the water…SHE DID IT!! She LOVED swim lessons!!!

We’re SO proud of our Swim Girl!

What adventures will the next big girl swim lesson bring? Tune in next week…

Swim Girl

04/17/2009 09:36
Goggles: $7.50. Bathing Suit: $9.99. Swim Lessons: $40.00.
Playing “Swim Girl”: Priceless…

Guess who’s in a big girl bed…

04/15/2009 04:23

IT’S ANNA!!!!HappyWe put a big girl bed in her room one day, she slept in it the next and we haven’t looked back. She LOVES her bed and (I know I could be jinxing it here) only got out of bed the first time she slept in it. Now, when we put her to bed she snuggles up and says, “I love you. Don’t get out of bed.” It’s so cute!!

Easter…Part Two

04/13/2009 04:25
We had a wonderful afternoon at the Senior Lenhart house.

Here are some pictures from the Easter Egg Hunt. I know I’m the mom, but seriously, these are some beautiful girls!

Oh! Would you look at that beautiful hair! This kid could be a hair model! Do they have kid hair models? Anyway…

Easter Morning

04/12/2009 01:41
Yes, I should be working on the cheesy potatoes, or cleaning or something…but here I am. We had such a nice morning with the girls, that I just had to share already. Hope you are having a Happy Easter!

Oh yea, the Easter Bunny went a little crazy. But, what’s a bunny supposed to do when Toys-R-Us has Fisher Price, buy one get one free?!

Anna found her basket!

I think Cate’s favorite thing was her Pirate water bottle! She said, “Oh I always wanted this!”.

Batting practice…

After French Toast, we headed outside for a walk and some play time.

Gotta love a man with a pink golf club.

Teeny tiny pink fingernails…

5 4 3 2 1…

04/09/2009 01:01
1 house, 4 adults, 5 kids ages 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. 0 fits, 0 meltdowns, 0 fights. Not normal, I know. These kids were so good all weekend and had so much fun together. Cate, Emily and Colin had a sleep-over in Em’s room (and really slept!) and Anna even took a 4 hour nap on Saturday!DSC_0109

I love all of the crazy messy bed heads.

I love this one of Caden, he’s got me figured out! I think he’s the most content baby I have ever seen!

“Little” Emily. Isn’t she such a beauty! And smart and sweet and funny…. She actually just broke her arm last week and had a cast on past her elbow, but we never once heard her complain about it!

I can’t say enough about this little guy, Colin. He’s funny, silly, kind, respectful and so much fun!

Thanks for hosting us, Mon and Bryan, your kids rock.

Wedding Shower

04/07/2009 04:22
We spent the weekend in Cincinnati for Larissa’s bridal shower. It was so awesome to get to see ALL of my best girls 2 weekends in a row! The shower was so fun, and the most exciting part is that we’re that much closer to the wedding! We stayed at the Young house with 4 adults and 5 kids, and it was wonderful (more on that later)! For now, here are some pictures of the shower.

There’s nothing like a group of girlfriends who know all of your secrets, quirks, and faults…and love you anyway.

The “big girls”, Emily and Cate, got to go to the shower, and they were delightful little ladies.

Of course, even little ladies have their silly moments.

The beautiful bride-to-be and her sweet little niece.

An “edible arrangement” MADE by MONICA and JAIME! Oh yea!

Riss and her Mama.

Cate…I think she was yelling at the ducks because she could hear her echo.Happy

More pictures of the weekend coming soon!

Tubby Time

04/03/2009 12:41
In a previous post I mentioned that Anna has a super silly side. Actually, both girls do and its the BEST when they are silly and laughing together. Here are some pictures from the tub, I guess its another example of trying to remember every little thing.

04/01/2009 09:50

On Sunday, my girlfriends and I surprised Emily with a baby shower! It was soooooooo much fun and Em was totally and completely surprised.

Everything was lovely.

It was a “green” theme. I made some cute onezies, This one said, “Save Our Jungle Friends” another was “Future Tree Hugger”.

Em, her mama and sister.

Yes, she does have a belly! Isn’t she just adorable!?!!
