Where does the time go? Our baby is 4 and there really isn’t enough time to talk about all the things we love about her. She’s kind and truly considerate, happy and silly, smart and cute, independent and confident, opinionated and direct, trusting and loyal…I could (and probably will) go on and on. But first, a picture… (and I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty proud of these).
Over the past few months, as Cate has drawn closer to 4, she has really changed. She has shown such maturity and confidence. She has always been a little character full of personality, but all of the sudden this amazing personality is paired with independence and she is simply blossoming.
She’s into pretty typical 4-year-old stuff, she likes princesses, playing babies, kitchen, store and dollhouse. But her interests really lie in all things musical and imaginative. She LOVES to dance and sing and thanks to her newest obsession, Taylor Swift, she LOVES to put on “beautiful dresses and high heels” and rock out, just like Taylor. On most days she “is” one of her idols, either a “beautiful ballerina”, a “12 year old”, “Taylor Swift” or big cousin “Makayla”. (Oh yes, Makayla is right up there with Taylor Swift! She really is that cool).
She’s also waaaaay into fashion. Each day, she picks out the clothes that she wants to wear, and changes her clothes at least 3 times a day. Her top choices are usually a dress or a skirt, but always her favorite pink high tops. 🙂 (So, if you see our daughter in some crazy outfit, she has most likely picked it out herself, don’t judge.) 🙂 The main criteria for her outfits is that they are “girlish”. For example, here is a recent conversation:
Me: How about these jeans, Cate?
Cate: No, they’re not girlish enough.
Cate: They look like boy’s jeans. I feel like a farmer in them.
So, if you were wondering, yes, she picked out her entire outfit for her shoot. We went to the mall, and this is what she wanted. She also begged me for a pair of jeans and sparkly top because it looked “just like a 12 year old!”.
She was way into her photo shoot. All of the sassy poses, all her. It was so fun!!
As I mentioned before, Cate loves music and LOVES to “rock out”. So, after ever couple of shots, she would have to take a minute to rock out, then she was good to go for more pictures. Here are just a few of her rocker stances.
We’re simply oozing with pride over this little girl. We hope that we can continue to foster her individuality and creativeness. We are so proud of her kindness and gentle spirit and instead of being sad about her getting another year older, we will embrace the changes, enjoy the ride and thank God for every single moment we get to spend with this awesome kid. Happy Birthday, Cate. We love you more than words can say.
Okay, I know, I know…I promised Cate’s pictures soon, but well, I have these ones done and darn it, they’re just so cute!! Cate picts soon, I promise. For now, check out this sweet little girl, Lila!
Lila (and her mom and dad!) are good friends of ours and I was thrilled to take her 2 year pictures. Like most 2-year-olds, she just wanted her Mama! 🙂 So, as you will see, we got some adorable pictures of this little cutie, but mostly just her sweet face so that she could be safe and happy in her Mama’s arms! (So cute!)
We did manage this one of her running. She spotted her binky and took off toward it!
Happy Birthday, Lila!
Guess who had their very own “I’m (almost) 4 Now” Photo Shoot today? 🙂 I’m sooooooo excited to post these pictures of my big girl…but for now, a quick sneak peek in the photo frame at the top of the blog. Stay tuned, more to come!
So, the email I got from this mom said that she and her family hadn’t had a family photo taken since her son was 18 months old. It was time! 🙂 I loved this family! We had a great time at the park near their house. They were super easy to work with, fun, and the kids were AWESOME!
And for those awesome kidders, I’ll start with this one, my favorite! Thanks for being so cute, you two!
These two are pretty cute too! And fellow teachers are always a delight to chat with!
Or maybe this one is my favorite?
Oh! And I loooooove the one of big brother in the top right! This little guy was great, and I hear he’s hoping we’ll use his name for our little boy. 🙂
And beautiful little sister. She was so excited to get her pictures on the swing. What a doll!
Thanks guys, I had a great time with your family! Let’s not wait so long for the next family picture, okay? 🙂
