Hocking Hills

Oh my poor website!  It’s been a long couple of weeks!  Cold weather, sick kiddos…the winter has finally caught up to us!  So….this weekend get-away came at the most perfect time!  My brother and his family, my mom and dad, and the 5 of us packed up and headed to a little cabin in the woods.  It was awesome!

Hocking Hills is in southern Ohio, and if you’ve never been, go. Go now. It’s truly one of the most beautiful places!  As a kid, my dad took my brother and I there many times.  We have many wonderful memories from those camping trips.

What’s crazy is, I have very distinct memories of telling my dad, “Someday I’m going to bring my kids here!”.  Whoa. I have kids now. I just took them to Hocking Hills.  Trippy.

So, anyway, here are some of the beautiful sights and the beautiful people we got to share them with.

The ice was amazing, and the snow packed trails were perfect for pulling little girls in sleds.

First stop, Ash Cave.

The falls at Old Man’s Cave were next. The hike down to the Cave will have to wait until summer…

The Morgan’s 🙂

Crazy.  It seems like yesterday I was here with just my dad and brother…now look at me (and that’s still minus one kid!)  🙂

My mom and William stayed back at the warm and cozy cabin while we were hiking, they were both waaaaaay okay with that arrangement.

The cabin was so fun too!  The girls all shared the big loft bedroom. Here they are playing with their Pop.

The girls were so in to hiking or, as Cate said, “exploring nature” that we hit one more spot on our way out on Sunday.

Will got to join in the fun for this one!

Love.

The girls (and okay! me) loved bumping down these icy steps on their our tushies.

In our BK (Before Kids) era, Corey and I made a few trips to Hocking Hills as well.  And for some reason, we always took a photo of Corey by his car after our last hike (I’ll have to look for some of those photos).  So, we kept the tradition on our way out…Corey with his car (now minivan!) with his (3!) kids.  🙂  This photo says it all and I am completely and totally in love with it, and them.

So glad for you all and this delightful weekend!
