We had an AWESOME Christmas. We visited with family and friends, we ate yummy food, we gave thanks, we opened perfect presents!
Here is Will on Christmas Eve. He did pretty well opening his own gifts (at least a few of them) this year. See that sailboat and train to the left? My dad made those for him!
Christmas morning was pretty perfect. We had one of our most proud parenting moments when the girls saw all of the gifts under the tree, the first thing they wanted to do was exchange the gifts they had purchased for each other. Then, insisted on Corey opening a gift from them, all this before opening all of their own gifts! You know, you spend so much time talking about the real meaning of Christmas and try to instill the “giving” part of Christmas, but you’re never totally sure how much is sticking. Sigh…
Here they are opening the gifts they got for each other.
Anna was so excited with her very own piggy bank.
Both girls really wanted a “pillow pet” this year (It’s a pillow, it’s a pet, it’s a pillow pet!). Here is Cate as she was opening hers.
The girls also got BARBIES!!!
And when the living room looks like this…you know it was a good one!
Every year, Corey’s family takes a group photo on Christmas Day. For one reason or another, it hasn’t been done for the past few years. This year Corey’s grandma really wanted that group picture…and group picture she got! It’s so nice to have these from year to year, I can already see us looking back on these archives and reminiscing about the year, or the age of the kids… Thanks for getting us back on track, Grandma!
Hope your Christmas was merry and bright! Wishing you a Happy New Year too!
