Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas.  We got to spend time with our family (though not all of the family, we missed you Lenharts!), open lots of presents, eat some tasty food, and just enjoy the company of one another.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my Gram.  She had a successful surgery on Christmas Eve and is now happy to be home to continue her recovery.  She is one amazing woman.  Although she and my Pap were greatly missed, the entire family did a great job carrying on rich Christmas Eve tradition.

With that, Christmas Eve…

Our girls were soooooo pretty in their Christmas dresses!  However, as anyone with little ones knows, it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a decent picture of the two of them.  🙂

Years ago, on Christmas Eve, everyone got a “groan tube” for Christmas.  I’m thinking my Uncle John was responsible for that one?  The groan tube, along with Uncle John, Diane, John, and Savanna all the way from Arizona, made their way back to Canton for Christmas this year.  It was great to see them all.

We were sure to get some group pictures of the whole family, as its not often we’re all in one place.

(FAMILY: I plan to order prints soon, let me know what you would like!)

Uncle John, Aunt Becky and my Mama.  Who, by the way, have done an amazing job of taking care of our Gram.  We are all so thankful for you.

Next, Christmas morning…

Cate was way into opening gifts this year.  She got a big girl vanity and some play make-up, roller skates, a new leotard (which she wore all Christmas day!) and Ariel P.J’s.  After opening her gifts, she said, “Wow.  That Santa really knows what children like!”.

Anna was a little overwhelmed with all of the gifts this year.  She got a scooter, a Bitty Baby, but really enjoyed all of her “princess” gifts, especially Cinderella.  This kid wakes up singing Cinderella songs and is always asking Corey and I to marry  her.  🙂

Christmas Day was spent at Nana and Papa’s house.  It’s always a relaxing day with the family.  The girls had fun playing with their cousins and always have a great time at Nana’s house!

I regret to report that my husband is now the proud new owner of these…

Like Cate said, “That Santa really knows what children like.” …even if you’re all grown up!

Last, a quick picture of my sweet family.  No matter where we are or what we’re doing, we’re all we need.  We are so thankful to be able to spend so much time together, and so thankful for the wonderful Christmas we were able to enjoy.

Thank you to both of our families.  The gifts you gave us, and the girls, were perfect and so very much appreciated.  We loved getting to spend time with you all!

Rick & Marcia Enslen - Wow – we love drinking coffee in bed and catching up with family and your photography on snow mornings like this. Can hardly wait to meet your newest family member when he makes his first appearance on F dock. It was fun seeing a few shots of of BG. I also did time there back in the last century.
